GINA LEVESQUE presents “A Brief History of Textiles and Dyes”

Artist Gina Levesque has been working in traditional fiber arts with natural dye stuffs, weaving, rug hooking, spinning, and traditional rug construction. Her presentation focuses on what dyes were used prior to commercial dyes, where those dyes came from and how patterns were printed. Why do some dyes “hold up” and others fdce? Chemistry, pirates, economy and the secrets in textile production history will all be revealed.

BARBARA SMITH presents a workshop “Project Bag With Zipper”
Barbara has been a member of GCQG since 2016. She enjoys bag making, quilting, English Paper Piecing, sewing for the home, machine embroidery as well as knitting and tennis.
